He's right. This guy has lost many millions betting on the Astros to win the world series. They've won their divison 4/5 seasons but lost their last 2 appearances in the World Series. He probably doubled down during the previous series' and lost even more. This most likely was a break even season for him.This isn't impressive to me.
If you have 3 million dollars to place on a bet, you've got money to burn as it is.
And it's not like the Astros were a dark horse to win the World Series anyway.
A real bet would have been dropping 3 million on Leicester City to win the Premier League in 2016.
Or betting your entire net worth on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to cover the spread -- any spread this season.
This type of shyt is terrible because people only see the win but not all the losses and crazy swings in between. Nobody who actually gambles at this scale wants to be transparent. It's not good for business. Gambling is mostly only great for the sportsbooks and Quants/Data Scientists who can profit off their information.
