Russia and Putin are separate things. This is why I like the idea of sanctions that specifically target Putin and his oligarchs, rather than the whole country. People can't help where they are born and in my experience Russians are generally good and honest people.

Not to derail this, but how much of Russia’s current economic condition would you blame Putin(himself) for?
all of it. he's been in power for close to 2 decades now and is only about amassing personal wealth for himself and the the oligarchs. russia has the 3rd most billionaires in the world, but that's cool the expats can brag about that while the unfortunate russians who can't leave struggle. they do have the freedom to laugh at americans being soft while living among them though, awesome. i just don't understand why they don't go back with their western expertise and help putin make russia great again. i'm sure he'd appreciate it.Not to derail this, but how much of Russia’s current economic condition would you blame Putin(himself) for?
