How soon until it becomes financially feasible for TV special effects to match the movies?

I feel like the Flash is pushing boundaries
They use a lot of far away shots tho

Never probably. People are still willing to go to IMAX/3D movie theaters specifically for that spectacle. Difficult to duplicate at home. And the pay out to movie companies is more direct compared to TVs model.
