I'm saying I've personally seen and know a lot of girls who've gone through this, and when they went to an older family member about it it was hushed up and a blind eye was turned so either the outside view of the family wasn't tarnished, the family didn't lose financially or because the older family member simply didn't care.

My cousin accused her dad of molesting her, they did an investigation and she was put in foster care and hasn't spoke to her dad since. He wasn't arrested, but all in all I do feel that was the best way something like this should be handled. Let the police deal with it, I don't feel it should be handled by the family. If she told me, I would have told her to talk to someone at her school, I would have never called her a liar or told her not to say something.

- her brother who is 9 years older than here sexually abused her from age 3-13
- she told her fam she was being abused and her mom told her she couldn't tell her dad
- mom told her Jesus loved her and she must forgive her brother
- she told her dad she didn't want anything to happen to her brother
-she disconnected from her fam, years later mom calls her not to reconcile but to see if she would help in getting her brother to lose custody of a daughter he had (with another women)
- she implies that the brother was abusing his own daughter

I hate to say it but I really think that mentality contributes to us being even more reluctant than usual to discuss this type of shyt when it happens among us.....I mean, look at the nikkas in here who straight-up said they can't even watch/finish the video....meanwhile if this was some white girl there wouldn't be many posts about how much of the video we could watch; rather there'd be more anti-cac posts from us fishing for daps and rep....

I get what you were generally trying to say......and while I agree that the 'cacs gonna cac' attitude affects how we react to this shyt when it happens in the black community.....I don't believe we cover it up any more or less than whites do. I think we hear more cases of white incest/molestation being prosecuted simply because they're the majority in the country, so of course there will be more reported cases involving them......also the media thinks white victims of crime >>>> black victims in general, so that's another factor

There are cacs out there who would accuse us of covering up incest/molestation in our communities because of course, covering it up is a bad thing, and people like to accuse the 'other side' of doing bad things more, to make themselves look better in comparison

My homeboy's girl did some type of social work interning for school and he told me she would always come home crying
He said she worked with sexual abused black children and eventually changed majors
