That's changed. How many women are being raised to be housewives. That sh*t don't exist any more. Women are expected to provide for themselves, and have the ability to hold down the household if the man leaves or dies.

Them roles you talking about would put women in a much tougher position in the dating world. Fat/ugly/swagless brehs with good jobs would be feasting.

Not being a housewife is not synonymous with not fulfilling traditional domestic roles. Majority of men and families can't afford to live comfortably from a single income. Even working women primarily provide childcare and do the cleaning.

But in addition to that, is there no independent value of hard work to a man? Everything is a function of "if women get to fulfill ___ role, I get to do ____"? What about regardless "Even in the evolution of female gender roles in still a man therefore I value financial independence and having the capacity to be a provider should I choose to have a family

Men don't necessarily desire to be able to lay on their backs and be taken care of. But socially there is a double language, or at least the language and actions, are separate as far as "b-b-but I'm equal to a man". We just want women by and large to pick a side. Is it the old ways or the new?
