A lot of IT jobs like enterprise architects are a LOT of work fam

Depends where you work. I was a Info Security Architect and didn't really do shyt. I was an AD Architect and really wasn't super busy either.

Honestly the most work I've had was when I was at the bottom doing help desk. The higher i went up the less work I had to do.

Youre in here lying. Stop it.

Dev Bootcamp, which calls itself an "apprenticeship on steroids," is one of a new breed of computer-programming school that's proliferating in San Francisco and other U.S. tech hubs. These "hacker boot camps" promise to teach students how to write code in two or three months and help them get hired as web developers, with starting salaries between $80,000 and $100,000, often within days or weeks of graduation.

Again, you're telling lies. There's no certification that'll give someone just getting into IT 70k. Nobody is going to trust their infrastructure to seone with a certification and zero job experience.

But if you have 2-4 years of relevant experience there are certs that you can pass in 3 months that'll get you 70k and more.

My job is quite stressful at times. Especially if a customer environment goes down. I wish I was working in our internal IT dept. There is less interaction with clients less stressful.

they're lazy as shyt and practically live like gods...they get $$$ to sit on their ass and do nothing all day, and look down on everybody else....i wish i couldve joined them...
I don't know how old you are. 20's or 30's?
I am telling you now, get a degree in something IT related. ECPI or schools like that can get you a degree in under 3 years. Software and technology aren't going to go away. Don't bother listening to the "jobs are going overseas". Software has been continuously a growth job market since the eighties. Think about that. You would have thought, it's going to plateau in 90s, or plateau in the 2000s. It's half way through 2010 and software developer need is still on the increase such that companies look outside of the US for programmers, and not because they are cheaper, but because they need the brain power.
You get into it now and graduate before 2019, there will be jobs for you. And those jobs are going to be there in 2020, 2025, 2030 and so on. It is constantly growing and evolving. From a programmer's point of view, the growth is good. You get paid more for your skills. The evolution part is not so great if you don't like change. Programming languages have changed and are always adding new features and stuff. Programming tools are also changing as needs change. You have to regularly get training as software and tools change.
