The Rockets would have to give up both center Clint Capela and guard Eric Gordon in the deals in the works, with the Rockets hoping to offer either a direct sign-and-trade with Philadelphia or a three-team deal that would provide a sizable trade exception that Philadelphia could consider valuable to reload if Butler leaves.

Forward P.J. Tucker is not expected to be a part of those scenarios.

Wouldn't really matter if a team wanted to help them or not if their plan is Harden, CP3, & Butler. Those 3 alone assuming Jimmy takes his max make a little over $109m which is the salary cap. Looks like they want to keep Tucker, so Tucker, dead space, & roster holds pushes them to a little over $125m after renouncing rights to all their FAs & waiving non guaranteed deals.

They would have around $13m to fill out 9 roster spots & unless they fill those out with rookies they would actually have less since anybody with a year in the league counts for more than the roster hold they would replace
