I'm in my 20s(just so you nikkas stop calling people who hate mumble no-talent rappers old and flabby and sick) and I think its a shame to see rap music completely dominating the airwaves, charts and album sales, reaching its peak in popularity, but at the same time, having trash ass rappers like Lil Uzi Vert, Trippie Red, Lil Yachty, Young Thug, Fetty Wap, Lil Pump, LIL WINDEX, XXXtentacion, 21 Savage, etc. Rap was much less popular and mainstream in the 90s than right now, but the best music was created then. Right now its the opposite.

To his credit, Kodak Black is easily the one who has the most mature content. He is versatile, his subject matter is more vast, and can rely on much more than gimmicks.

Its like they were purposely enginereed in a music industry lab to perpetuate stereotypes and exploit the very short attention spans of this generation who lives for memes, repetitive trap music and gimmicks. They cater to the lowest common denominator smh. They mumble, say ay ay ay instead of spitting coherent, creative and thought provoking lyrics. Their punchlines ain't at all either. Their lyrics are devoid of methapors and clever word play. They are incapable to structure their raps in a standard manner.

Image, ordinary melody, and gimmicks is what they surf on. If auto-tune/808s didnt exist they would starve.
