I've read this somewhere and I wanted to know how or why this is true.
ehhh
according to sociological theories pretty much everything involving humans is a social construct
That's what I'm asking.Constructed by who? The cavemen running from sabre toothed tigers?
That's what I'm asking.
Well in some cases biological factors are disregard and called social construct. Like despondency that can come from lack of sex.Define masculinity first
As in like society's concepts and beliefs of what "being a man" entails and patriarchy
Or like masculine traits such appearance and muscles and biology?
Sex refers to male or female, while gender refers to masculine or feminine. Society tells us what it is to be masculine vs what it means to be feminine, and that a man "should" be masculine white a woman "should" be feminine. So yes, masculinity is a social construct. A man can be masculine or feminine. A woman can be masculine or feminine. There is nothing innate about a man being masculine.
Elaborate.Yes it is.
