Sometimes these billboard stats don't make sense.
Still Dre peaked at 93 - but went 4 times platinum :patrice:
It reminds me of If I Ruled the World peaking in the 40s to 50s but It Was Written being the #1 album in the country behind it. :patrice:

Yeah it doesnt add up at all. Both songs got ridiculous play on the radio (IIRTW), in clubs (Still DRE) and in cars (both) over here in Europe, shyt was everywhere

Maybe ppl rather bought 2001 and IWW off the strength off those heavyhitters?

I bet most of the nikkas saying "Still DRE wasn't that big" weren't even fukking 10 years old when that record dropped. :mjlol:

Still DRE was HUGE. I was at a east coast college then and you heard it everywhere you went.

Yep it was a huge song. I was 4 when it came out and I remember hearing that song all the time. It was huge even in scotland.

Haven't seen this posted but I think it's a good one. Before this..people didn't really take Cam serious, he had a couple of lil hits (What Means The World..Horse & Carraige etc..) but he was written off as goofy and pretty fukkin wack tbh, then he comes outta nowhere with this shyt and becomes one of the most influential rappers of the era..
Exact opposite breh. Cam was kind of a joke with the first album in spite of this very serious cover

:pachaha:
But he was consistently dropping crazy verses and although SDE wasn't a huge record, there were a few verses on that album that was :wow:
You could tell he had the talent and the potential.
To me, he blew up with CHWM - but the album was a let down. Nas agrees. :sas2:

This is why I always argue about how Dre is a clown and 2001 was most enjoyed by white suburban kids that wanted to be down.

Nobody around my way was rocking tothat album...at all...

yup.

great post.

thats why they made sure they signed 50 cent.

Just stop...that album was non stop play in the hood, shyt was the soundtrack to riding around, parties, house parties, etc. No clue where you're from so maybe it wasn't hot with y'all, but please don't try to act like this was some white kid album.

thats pretty much what that album was outside of the west coast.

we keep telling yall, but yall want to live in denial.

its contradictory to clown wutang if youre in the same thread proppin this album up. theyre in the same exact boat. just different coasts.

Lowkey, Lord Camel BARZ was below his standard, tho:lupe:
