"There is no athlete on the planet who could've played through those cramps," Thomas told Yahoo Sports. "Michael Jordan absolutely couldn't have played through those cramps. I absolutely couldn't have played through those cramps. As an athlete, there's nothing you could do."

Twenty-six years ago, Isiah Thomas delivered the most unforgettable 25 points ever scored in an NBA quarter, his ankle threatening to crumble under the pressure of the pain and platform. On a Finals night that everyone else was a sweaty, disheveled mess, Thomas looked so unaffected and unmoved in the heat. He hadn't come to condemn this generation's superstar, but give him a comforting nod of understanding.

"There's no way you could play that way," Thomas told Yahoo Sports. "People have to understand that – just no way."

but let you unathletic internet nerds tell it, he shouldve just downed a gatorade, eaten a couple of bananas and went back out there:laff:
This guy asking LeBron haters to be reasonable, logical or to have ever played sports before that didn't involve an XBox controller?

The summer after 9th grade I went to a team basketball camp where we ran drills and full court games non stop from 7 am to 7 pm.. We had a cafeteria where they fed us and had one of those fastfood type soda dispensers where you can get all the free refills you want...My dumb azz not knowing any better was drinking like 5 cups of Sprite after every lunch because I was so dehydrated from the constant running.. After around the 3rd day I was walking back from the cafe with my boys about to play a game and both of my legs locked up. I had never experienced it before so I thought I was having a stroke or a seizure... My brain was telling my legs to move but I was frozen and couldn't go anywhere..Then I got these sharp piercing pains from the top of my thighs to my toes.. I thought I was about to die and just fell on the floor by some lockers..

They had to pick me up place me in a wheelchair and bring me to an empty classroom in the school the camp was at.. They placed me on the floor, put bags of ice on my legs, gave me like 5 banannas and left me in the classroom for like 4 hours while they left to play games.. This was an old azz high school where the lights would flicker out and while I was laying there with ice on me alone, unable to move the lights went out..About 20 minutes later I start hearing chirping noises and I see a couple of huge rats running underneath the crack of the door from the outside into the room where I was stuck.. I thought they coming after the bananas or to chew on my feet and I panicked and tried to get up but couldn't move.. I was literally paralized and couldn't move.. Luckily they ran off somewhere else but that sh1t was one of my worst experiences ever.. I didn't drink soda for like 5 years after that..

Someone mentioned on ESPN radio today that MJ left the 4th quarter of the 1997 Game 4 NBA Finals due to cramps. I cant remember that but does anyone recall?

it's called pacing. lebron has limited pacing skills. dude tried to play a high intensity the whole game.....most people slow it down in the high heat. eh...

This is incredible... basketball camps didn't give a fukk, man. I have stories of injuries, illness, and strife from camps... where the "doctor" was like some teenager, or a person that lived nearby.

Treating cramps with bananas and orange juice, treating sun blisters with frozen peas and aloe, but still sending you out to play, coaches saying 12 year olds were faking injuries... just insane.

I remember when a GRIP of kids from my town all had to sit-out the last 3-4 days of the camp, the playoffs, the championships and all star games, everything... because they all caught the same rash and couldn't walk without being in intense pain. Why? The camp had communal showers, and they were all showering in bathing suits.

When they told me what happened, I was just like... These muhfukkers will never survive in the real world.
