I will say this...

Not to take away from the Knicks, but they've gotten somewhat lucky again this postseason. That's not to say last season's run to the Conference Finals wasn't legit, but things in their path worked in their favor, just as they have again this year.

Last year, faced an inexperienced Pistons team; this go-around, the same with the Hawks. Last season, against Boston in round 2, they caught some luck with Tatum's injury, clutch late-game execution, and Bridges having a few big games. This season, they avoided Boston thanks to Philly, but the Sixers clearly weren't much of a challenge.

Now, we're going to see if they're really legit against either Cleveland or Detroit. Will they legitimize this run by reaching the Finals for the first time in 26 years, or will they falter again, as they did against Indiana last postseason?

I think they will be the favorites against the Cavs or Pistons. Still, again, they were the last time against the Pacers, and unfortunately, they choked after losing game 1, which, in some ways, demoralized the team, and they were never able to recover, losing in 6 games.

I do believe this time around, they will get over the hump and reach the Finals.

Knicks have dodged no smoke and done most things right in this Thibs/Brown era

No luck here. The opponent is the opponent

Knicks were already on the verge of going up 3-1 when Tatum got injured.
