what an absolute disgrace that this young men had this taken away from them.
I reached out to some folks I know in the Chi who said this whistleblower coach's team from Evergreen Park - is basically in the same neighborhood of Cicero, Illinois (Coli fam correct me if i'm wrong)
interestingly enough I came across this the other day a "CBS Reports; Black Power / White Blacklash" program that aired in '66
go to the 33 minute mark to hear why Dr. MLK Jr. decided to go to Cicero, Illinois to break up housing discrimination, than shortly after that hear from the "good folks" of Cicero give their thoughts on where they are from, and what they think about black folks moving in.
When you put this clip from '66 in the context of where this all took place for JRW, and the team that they demolished, its very easy to see the real motivations behind all of this.

I am a white guy from Chicago and I just wanted to say that what happened to JRW was absurd. As others have mentioned, this practice is common in youth leagues all across America, and the fact that the Evergreen Park coach went out of his way to go on a crusade against JRW says a lot. What kind of grown man does his own personal investigation of a Little League baseball team?
I can say from experience that white parents are some of the craziest people when it comes to things like youth sports. They try living vicariously through their kids because they are often very miserable in their marriage or job.
I feel bad for the JRW kids. Hopefully people will raise enough of a stink to get them their hard-won title back.

Doesn't matter the race. You get caught you must pay. A shame the kids have to suffer in the long run. But as always it'll be a race issue. It's a shame my own black people are going to be the ones to make it that way.
You didn't see Philippians in 92 crying about racism when they got caught or Latinos in 01 crying about racism when they got caught. They accepted the punishment and called it a day.

I really feel for those kids. Most, if not all of us played in organized sports as kids, and teams do this ALL THE TIME, and it is considered okay. The main reason why? THEY WANT TO PLAY IN A BETTER LEAGUE. Even Hondras' dad said, the reason why he put his son in JRW was because it is a competitive league and because the suburban leagues in the area have a tendency to play Daddy Ball which is common as hell (fathers being coaches and picking favorites with their sons).
If you ask me, it's definitely out of jealousy from this punk ass Evergreen Park LL guy

The miserable POS who got mad that his team got MOLLYWHOPPED 43-2 even recruited kids from the urban area for his Daddy Ball team, nobody said a gat damn thing

The kids were talented and won fair and square on the field, and you can't take that away from them. shyt, they beat that Las Vegas team who had kids who looked like a mix of college freshman and Bernice from Dodgeball FAIR AND SQUARE. Yet they get the title and nobody said anything about them.
It's always gotta be that person in youth organized sports who wants to live their dream vicariously through their kids cause they didn't get their shot, then wonder why sometimes the kids when they finally get their own freedom either don't play sports at all or just tell their parents go fukk themselves for forcing them to do shyt they didn't wanna do.
I would've penalized the adults, but the kids having to face the repercussions is just upsetting.
But still, salute to the kids from JRW. Best of luck to them in the future.

they wont tell you that those boundaries are gerrymandered boundaries as well. just like in politics. the burbs get to keep all the good players. and not only that, the WHITE burbs get to keep the best players in general which will result in mostly white teams of great players. because then the good black kids are spread so far apart they will never have a stacked team to beat these stacked white teams.
