I did read Ziggiy's post. In fact, my response to Ziggiy, quotes that exact post.

My critique is that the actors are mimicking a white show when the said show was (1) a replica of Living Single and (2) there were a plethora of black 90s sitcoms to choose from. Why are we choosing white anything, if there is a similar black option? At some point, when will we snap out of this gaze that we have with mainstream media. Why do we need their shows, their awards, their acceptance? Jay looks even more funny in the light b/c he ignores the show of his peer (Queen Latifah) in favor of FRIENDS. These types of thought lapses are not present in black people who are truly pro black and Jay consistently shows that this is another bandwagon that he has hopped on.

My opinion remains the same.

:dwillhuh:

In the video, Hannibal calls him out on remaking a white show and Jerrod is clearly uncomfortable with the whole thing. The whole thing feels off to him and the people watching the video.

Why would they choose a black show from the 90s when the point of the video is commentary about race in the entertainment industry Breh. If they just re enacted Martin or living single how would they get the same point across

All the people in the video create good black TV what would they have to gain by reenacting black Tv shows

There are several different angles that they could've used to highlight black shows while simultaneously showcasing the racism in the entertainment industry.

Please please please give us a better concept of how using a black show to get a point for a song called "Moonlight" named after a black movie that was snubbed by "La La Land" a white movie (accidentally) -------- please tell me how using a black show for the Carmichael situation would have made any sense......

Decatur where its greater
here comes the over analysis. Talking about baffoons and c00ns.

Blacks can't have fun ever without some tight ass going out of the way to overa analyze...this is why we can't have black shows that have "white" humor. People like you keep us down, miserable, and destructive.
:camby::camby: Where the hell is Napoleon with that cac alert shyt, we got one here

There are also plenty of black films and actors that were snubbed. Denzel in Malcolm X comes to mind. Is this not "snubbing?"

There was also Martin (show), who reached a 100th episode milestone, with great ratings, but got treated like crap by the network. There's also a couple of examples, where networks build there ratings with black sitcoms and faithful black viewers, only to dump them for mainstream shows (i.e. FOX, UPN, CW). Is this not a "when we win, we lose" situation?

I didn't say that they had to use the Carmichael show as I have only watched a few episodes and wasn't wowed by it.
