Is the QB situation his fault?
He's the reason Fitzpatrick had a long leash in the first place. When Fitz kept fukking up and Bowles kept giving everyone the "he still gives us the best chance to win" excuse, everyone minus Brandon Marshall stopped taking him seriously, which led to a lot of players just not giving a fukk.
He's not in on it. He's gonna try to win, which is REALLY gonna piss everyone off. I get he wants to win. I get that even last year, he was gonna try even though everything pointed towards a doomed season. He coulda yanked Fitz (as well as a lot of players who sucked or who were mailing it in) and been given a mulligan as coach. Realistically that team was gonna fail no matter what but Bowles did so much wrong he made it so the blame would be sent his way when it didn't have to be that way.Is the decision to tank his fault?
Like I said, Bowles threw himself in front of the bus. That game vs. Buffalo, the team was flat. He didn't have them ready. Everything Jets fans were begging for (re: tank) we wanted a year ago, and with the Jets' schedule he had every excuse to do so and he fukked it up. He coulda saved himself a lot of trouble by being tougher on the players and giving the younger guys more of a chance. This year he's doing that because they got rid of almost every veteran worth a damn. His best route of survival was to basically make it seem like his GM gave him nothing to work with and he didn't do that.If Fitz hadn't shyt the bed at the end of 15', they'd have made the playoffs. Then that clown Fitz held out until August, and the team stunk last year.
and I didn't even get into the actual coaching which was embarrassing at times.
Bowles is a nice guy who means well and a lot of people wanted him here, but he's not gonna survive this season barring major player development.
