When they were casting for the show he actually wanted them to cast someone younger to play his wife because Florida was almost twice his age. And JJ was 26 when the show started.

I always draw parallels between good times and family matters. Both were originally supposed to revolve around the father but ended up being overshadowed but comedic c00n characters that made it hard to take the shows seriously.
