The surprise success of “John Wick” certainly kicked open career doors for stunt coordinators turned directors, David Leitch and Chad Stahelski. And while the former is sticking with the franchise, helming the upcoming “John Wick: Chapter 2,” the latter has used the heat he’s attained to direct the upcoming espionage flick, “The Coldest City.” And next on his plate is an action starring three big names in the martial arts world.

Tony Jaa, Tiger Chen, and “The Raid” star Iko Uwais are teaming up for the appropriately titled, “Triple Threat.” Dwayne Smith (“Free Fall“) has penned the kinda insane sounding script that follows a Chinsese martial artist who travels to Mexico who travels to Mexico to rumble with a drug cartel after they kidnap his wife. Damn. Sounds potentially badass, and Stahelski has worked with Chen before on Keanu Reeves‘ “Man Of Tai Chi,” so it’ll interesting to see what they bring to the table here.

Helping out behind the camera will be Wang Xiaolie, who will co-direct, and while there’s no word yet on when filming might begin, the project is currently making the rounds at the American Film Market, and I’d imagine if pre-sales are good, this one will get going sooner rather than later.

Which one had the best ideas. If both movies end up being trash then these 2 should have stayed together
