Power forwards is one thing.
Another thing is lack of true centers. And this has been an ongoing process for nearly 20 years. Remember Dwight in his prime was dominating weak ass big man competition purely off his athleticism and no post moves.
Not a knock on Jokic or Embiid, they'd still be all-stars in any era. But it's clear they could not rest on defense that much when defending Shaq, Hakeem, Ewing, Robinson, etc.
Current NBA teams tried to copy Golden State Warriors basketball style forgetting that shyt worked because of enormous talent of Curry, Klay, even Draymond being undersized PF he was capable of defending multiple positions and I mean damn they had a good center Bogut also. They didn't need him that much when their talent got ridiculously better by signing KD, but the point is that team is one of the most loaded teams ever.
If you are undersized on multiple positions, then good luck breh, And obviously inserting any random 7 footer ain't gonna work, like Valanciunas who's ridiculously slow on defense.
