That verdict seems counterproductive. Hopefully she can find some peace and move forward with her life.

Idk if you’ve ever had a female friend or family member be harassed with sexual images but it’s hell and there isn’t much the police can usually do about it - so they just suffer day in and day out. This billion dollar judgement on his head should go a long way towards retribution and making him stop forever.

That fine is going to do little beyond making an eye-catching headline, plus make it more likely for her to be harassed by infinitely more people who see 1-billion-plus and think they can get a piece. Now she's facing a different kind of harassment that will last years. It also doesn't address the real problem. Uncomfortable a thought as it is, now that you've perpetually broken that man financially, once he does his time and he gets out, what's he going to do? What options does he have beyond going back to harassing her or any woman within reach? Even more importantly, none of it will address her mental and emotional well being going forward.

It's one thing if they awarded her money and kept the amount undisclosed, or gave him years and put him on a list. This just ends up just being a pitch to make Texas look like they're tough on crime...and anyone can tell you just how much Texas politicians love their posturing.
