I haven't been saying that

i hope they trade his fakkit ass

Why the hatred and hostility though.

I`m not cool with the holdout either, but like I said before, i can't be mad at Boone one bit.

He is much better than a top 12 g, and he even filled in at LT very well.

He never had a big deal, could get injured at any point, remember we re-signed him when he was a reserve, or do you remember?

Did someone really come in her talking about preseason where most of our stars have barely played in the two games? :pachaha:

We stay on they minds brehs

We have looked like shyt, but it's pre-season, who cares.

Sure i`d like to see more from the team, but i`m not stressing fake games played mostly by guys who`ll never make the team

the dorsey extension is good news but the progress on crabs possible extension is even better news. i'm confident that a deal could get done in the next week or two

Inking Crab would be great news in an training camp of bad news.

Ink Crabtree, then trade Boone knowing we might as well get something for him

theres no hatred or hostility, @Front 2 Back was very consistent in his stance- he said the same thing for every player who wanted more than what the brass thought he was worth. kaep, vd and now boone

you may dont like his stance, but its at very least very consistent and not selective based on position.

personally, Im ok with him holding out, but really, he was offered a top 12 contract. once he is offered a top 8 G contract (its coming, Im sure) and he refuses, then we throw him in the bushes.

Im ok with not overpaying for crabs if it comes down to that. hes a very good WR, but I think hes gotten to the point where he is a bit overrated. it will all depend on what his demands are

But why are you bringing that up now? That's where you seem to be taking this to a different level

What does any of that have to do with Alex Boone in 2014?

Dude bottom line deserves top 5 at his position money, I don't blame him for not taking less than he is worth.

They're saying the "money" isn't there yet. I don't think it was as cut and dry as it was first reported. I believe Boone wants the contract he's on ripped up and replaced, but the Niners want to extend the contract he currently has.

In addition to these tweets, here's an article by Maiocco that supports what I just said:
http://www.csnbayarea.com/49ers/holdout-boone-49ers-remain-apart-contract-stalemate

On Monday, NFL.com senior analyst Gil Brandt reported Boone turned down a contract that would place him in the top 12 among offensive guards.

But if the 49ers had indeed offered Boone that kind of money over the life of the contract, it would have been completed long ago, according to a source. Boone is scheduled to earn $2 million this season and $1.2 million in 2015.

Another source said the 49ers offered a contract extension that adds seasons onto his existing years and salaries. That could be the biggest sticking point in the stalemate. The 49ers do not want to do “tear it up” deals with players who have remaining seasons on their contracts.

Therefore, the 49ers’ offer over the life of the contract would not place Boone’s total package within the top 12. And the new money in 2016, '17 and '18 probably will not be top-12 money in those years due to a projected rising salary cap and escalating salaries league-wide.

I agree I need to see him beast this year, and be an unquestioned #1 receiver, then again I think Crabs likes playing for the team and may take a team friendly contract full of incentives. With him and Stevie Johnson and potentially Bruce Ellington, our receiving corps could be one of the NFLs best if it comes together.

I don't have an issue paying Boone but it would be much smarter for him to play out the year. Whats the gap in pay between a top 12 guard and a top 10 guard, can anyone shed some insight?

Special Teams:

Phil Dawson - Great veteran kicker, is basically money from within 50 yds, and can make a few beyond that as well. Still one of the NFLs premier kickers, but I hope we don't have to rely on him so much though but it's good to have insurance. Grade: B+

Andy Lee: King of the Coffin Corner Punt. He has both power and accuracy and is one of the NFLs best if not the best in the NFL and he's still relatively young at 32. If I'm not mistaken he's one of the leagues highest paid punters as well, but he's worth it. Grade: A

Colton Schmidt: A young backup punter, I don't think he'll make the team, but he may be punter a few years down the line Grade: C-

Kevin McDermott - our new longsnapper, he ousted Brian Jennings who was becoming too expensive for the 49ers to keep. He's very reliable for a young long snapper and has a bright future. Grade: B

Kyle Nelson - Most likely a scout teams long snapper Grade: D-

In conclusion, with Brad Seely as the special teams coach out unit will be one of the leagues best, we're smart discipline and rarely make silly penalties. Our Punter and kicker are among the leagues best. This will always be an unsung unit. Grade: A-
