with vd out and lloyd inactive who exactly can run a go ? plus post routes are ran a lot against a zone. we're usually a very good passing team against the zone

welcome to last year and any year under roman really

It's comedy if you use the 49ers on Madden, they do a thing where you highlight your WR and it says their strengths/weaknesses against who is covering them on the play. Listed like

Speed:
Route Running:
Release:

Damn near every matchup i`ve highlight against all the teams i played, almost never does the WR have the edge in speed.

We got some slow ass wideouts

Drew Stanton is starting Sunday it seems, this game got a bit easier.
I dont know about that, carson gifted us some picks that first game last year, pretty much was our MVP. Id rather face a gimpy carson at this point prolly.

Nah, because Cutler is a guy you can force TO's from too and we didn't do it, so I`ll take Stanton who was -50% passer against the NYG.

At the end of the day Carson last time we played Carson dropped 400 yards on us, and their WR/TE corps is better now than it was then

They had VD for most of the game, and they could've had Ellington run them (go routes).
It's obvious they telegraphed all of the Niners' plays, and could tell that they weren't trying to go over the top.

breh we dont really run go routes like that. in the last 3 years under harbaugh and roman we simply dont run go routes. we run maybe 3 a game with all receivers combined. when it was a deep route it was usually vernon on post or skinny post or wheel route. it hasnt killed us, but pointing it out as the reason the offense stalled on sunday is silly.

the whole 'we need deep threats' shyt is overblown anyway. we don't really. we need a cohesive offense, we have more than enough weapons to kill teams like the bears.

ellington isnt really a go route threat in the way you and others seem to think, either

You don't think Ellington is a deep threat?
Why not?

Also, they ran a deep route against the Cowboys with Lloyd.
I understand they don't have the speed, but Ellington is a capable deep threat (like a younger, faster Steve Smith)

hes not that type of player. he has nowhere the speed of steve smith.
ellington is more quick than fast, watch his college tape. lloyd isnt really fast either but he uses great route-running to his advantage

most of the time we run go routes its decoys to free up space in the underneath zones

if you watch the game in all-22, what happened is bears stacked the box and dared kaep to beat them with his arm. we ran some routes that werent underneath, ie vernon posts. kaep just didnt deliver. in fact, he was counterproductive and basically beat himself with his arm

and people wonder why we go back to conservative shyt. roman sucks and he sucks in not establishing the short pass game... abd we simply cannot chuck the ball downfield until we have reliable short pass offense and kaep becomes more accurate. this stop and go offense isnt built to last in shootouts, and if it does, it usually is due to pure talent. we still have little chemistry in pass offense, and thats what really bothers me

NINER EMPIRE
http://insidethefilmroom.com/22-breakdown-went-wrong-kaepernick-49ers/

Details all of Kap's turnovers. Below is the first one.

Game Situation: 2nd Quarter, 9:30, 1st and 10 at the SF 50, 49ers 7, Bears 0

Offensive Personnel: 2 WR (Michael Crabtree, Anquan Boldin) 2 TE (Vernon Davis, Vance McDonald) 1 RB (Carlos Hyde)

Formation: Shotgun 3 Wide Strong

Offensive Concept: Curl/Flat Combo/Seam route

Defensive Scheme: Cover 3

This pick is all about Kaepernick’s staring down Boldin from the snap. That focus on one of his favorite targets keys the entire zone defense—which is reading his eyes—to where he is going with the ball before he even releases it.

With that knowledge free safety Chris Conte starts breaking on the ball well before it leaves Kaepernick’s hand and successfully undercuts the seam route. Still, it was an incredible play by Conte to cover that much ground and make the diving interception but Kaepernick simply can’t stare down his receivers like this against a Cover 3 zone.

I honestly like what I see from Carrier a lot.

Vance been trash, he aint showed me much else this season.

VD out hurts, and we definitely need AD back.

Time for the franchise player to carry the franchise
