Showing my age a bit here, but there was a start up clothing brand back in the late 90's called Nu-South
Their idea was along these lines, try to take a historically white, evil symbol, put a spin on it and go. Needless to say, it died a fairly quick death. I can't see this taking off, the only thing that it's got behind it is Kanye's popularity.

Don't ever talk like that about 30-40 million people without some facts to back it up.
I don't know what "black people" are taking a stance against, or if we are. All I know is that white people, the N-word and whatever the fukk are not important variables for us to move ahead. Racism is not our biggest problem anymore, which Kanye himself has talked about on his latest campaign. The problem is extremely complex, so complex that it's a matter of philosophy at this point.
What Kanye is doing is just being as creative as he is to promote his tour, his black skinhead movement/question and on. I hope he has an extremely good explanation for this and not some bullshyt "It's a fly flag". I rarely criticize Ye but this time, his shock-value methods might be a bit too disrespectful and tasteless.
And if you reference regarding slaves is in line with Kanye's, he's not even talking about black people.
Everyone is someone's slave depending on which class you are in. "The 99%" (which black people are about 1/10th of) are slaves, even people in the 1% are slaves according to Kanye he's in the top 0.0001% or something.
The simplest thing would be to get motherfukkers to create solid everlasting families, that's probably the biggest problem within the "black community" compared to the "white community". Now those type of discussions are impossible and too deep.

But these southern racists fight to keep the confederate flags in use.
People against it talk about it being an emblem from a time in which blacks were slaves and was the national symbol for a part of the country that thought slavery was something worth dying for.
People for it say it just shows pride in the south. People like Kanye supporting the flag doesn't make them mad, it makes their argument easier. How can we tell them that the flag is offensive as fukk when dudes like Ye are selling it at concerts?
Like someone said earlier, it'd be like Jewish people selling shirts with the swastika thinking they're gonna piss Nazis off.
The majority of people going to his concerts will be white. The majority of people buying these shirts will be white.
