After the game during the presser, Phil explained that Kobe needed to get the rest of the team involved because Kobe iso ball wasn't what got us those 3 wins to begin with.

If yall recall, our success against the sons came from a collective effort in the paint from the bigs and 06 Kobe all over the floor. sons and f'ucktoni were smaller and liked the run so Phil slowed it down and tried to win the paint and we put our hopes on butterfingers kwame, odumb pre-title run, and on occasion a still-going-through-puberty Andrew Bynum.

You could see once we got to 3-1 that it was the peak for that sorry ass squad and they couldn't make their little contributions in Game 5, and Odumb's lack of hustle on a board he had position on at the end of the game lost us Game 6 after Kobe dropped 50, by Game 7 the team was back to being its same shytty self from back in January and the rest was history. That press conference with Phil always sticks out cuz I remember how mad I was that Kobe didn't just say "fukk teammates" and go out shooting and when he explained it I was mad but kinda understood the logic behind it. I mean, even Kwame was producing in the paint so you know Kobe and Phil was getting the most outta them bums. 2006 Kobe was a tragedy, he deserved to be in the Finals that year.

Kobe stopped shooting because the rest of the team was just standing around, watching him, as they did all season. He got fed up.
