You said it yourself.. Fame chasing. they see it as fast money + fame, indie takes longer to get to the point where you're making bread & is harder work. Most don't want to put in that effort.

people say the hood is the source of the culture when its the same thing that allows the genre to be bought for coins, most of these dudes just want some form of decent income and could give give a fukk less about artistic integrity

Ticket sales + drinks/food. It adds up. you have people buying drinks a couple times each hour plus the 15/20 they paid just to get in.
