Had to neg you for this one bro

Its cool I don't see internet "points" as something to revel in, just making a point. Lot of tired acts are not considered legends to me because they shared space and or time with legends. Flav, ODB, and Lord Jamar are corny, and never had the skill of the rest of their groups. Being present, doesn't qualify for legendary status.

:patrice: I kinda understand you but it made me think different.

Basically, legends are like a tree, and lineages being branches, and their progeny or contributions are their fruits.

I know Nicki claims Lauryn as an inspiration yet Nicki doesn't display Lauryn in her music career nor her imagery.

Outside of that, who exactly and what exactly has Lauryn inspired?

Ms. Hill remains this anomaly that brings about frustration when really weighing her place in the canon.

First female rapper to go diamond.
Won 64 awards.
Between her solo & Fugees she sold 16 million albums.
Wrote songs for Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, & Aretha Franklin.
Put John Legend on.
Inspired people like Drake, Nicki Minaj, & Beyonce with the singing/rapping melodic style of music.

She may not have had a long career but she definitely had an impact.

I agree completely, major impact, hence why I also agree that its a legendary album....but that doesn't make her a legend, especially when she can't replicate it. If were use your logic, Vanilla Ice, Sir-Mix-Alot, and Adele are legends.

They both sing...

Nicki credits Lauryn for inspiring her to both rap and sing.

I see your point so does that disqualify Biggie from being a legend?
