Raven Symone did it for That's So Raven - she said she had to for the role.

Bianca Lawson did it in saved by the bell

There are many more but i can't be bothered to think about it and lok up their pics. I'm guessing they had to tan to appear more black and appeal to black audiences. Mixed people that look just white play white roles, and I'm sure the hispanic looking ones have played hispanic roles.

Lol, at the first picture. That's not a tan. That's just darker foundation put on her face, neck and chest area.
Gurl whatchu tryna do derail my thread? :dahell: Look at her neck and hands, they look tanned to meh.

It don't matter anyway, that ain't the point of the thread :martin:

Light skinned people are still black tho.

and Raven gets no pity points for me for how she treated the mom on her show.
I'm not saying you should pity them, but it's an interesting discussion as to why they have to tan to so-called appeal to black audiences and appear more black.

You can put foundation on your neck and hands too. Nicki Minaj does it. Anyways, please go to your nearest Sepora and learn a thing or two about make up.
My thirsty days on YouTube has taught me many about makeup. And yeah people use foundation on their neck and chest but not their hands :rudy:

I think there's some basis to it though. Black women have complained fora long time that mixed women and light skinned women have been getting black female roles.
