Louisiana is dirt poor.

How to distract the population? "Tough on crime."

Are they improving education, health care, diversifying their economy etc.? Nope...just lock more brehs up to keep the working class whites employed with jobs at the local prison.

That's how you end up with a brain drain where all your most talented people end up in Atlanta, NYC, Dallas, Houston, Charlotte etc.

So doing any kind of crime could get you in prison for the rest of your life at 17 years old.

No parole.

And all that is IF the cops don't just kill you right there because "reasons" and immunity.
Tough on crime? This is just a plot to build and fill more prisons. Why let 18 year olds concealed carry without training or a permit unless you want more crime and violence? Crime will definitely go up. How is it that no one sees this?

A lot of black kids are gonna get gunned down by police with immunity and the cops will simply say "they had a gun" (even if they didnt) and face no consequences. There is no good that can come from this in the Black community. This will create more chaos in our community just like in the 80's when they flooded the community with crack.

I don't disagree with the two points you made.
:hubie:

But some of the other criminal reform shyt this governor is on...nah.
Nah that shyt is bad

But criminal justice should never be about giving cops more power and giving criminals more chances to harm society and that’s what it usually is from progressives and conservatives

People just want criminals separated from society and to be treated like a human by police

Same problem in a lot of areas: extremist, absolutist activists taking over the messaging and policy language of issues. We have prison abolitionists running point on criminal reform, leaving violent offenders on the streets based solely on ideological reasons. We have immigration activists advocating for a borderless society. I am not an immigration absolutist, I'm just shytting on the "borders shouldn't exist, states shouldn't exist" people crafting language on this.

There has to be a balance. You want to get rid of bail for drug offenders? Fine. But violent crimes - including theft? No. The reason these people are lenient on car jacking is because they don't believe in property rights btw. So...why are they involved in this process. Stealing cars is a potentially violent crime, it erodes social trust/security, and hurts regular people. If you're stealing cars you should go to jail, and then go to prison after a trial.
