its actually the opposite
and the whole "scared"/ducked act is really getting old
easy cop out for "boxing fans" that don't no what they are talking about

Well this "boxing fan" has been watching boxing for over 25 years and I think I know just as much if not more as you. And watching other great fighters over the years and reading enough articles on ones I didn't get the chance to watch I know that I am in the majority in the real world as far as people saying Floyd hasn't ducked fighters. I've been a fan of Floyd's since the first time I saw him fight on the same card as his uncle. And he is an all time great fighter without a doubt. But over his careers and especially after the Castillo fight Floyd did not always fight the best fights that were available to him. All these fighters that Floyd didn't fight at times I think he would have beat but because he didn't people will always doubt Floyd cause we never got to witness him beating them. We don't doubt other all time greats resume like Sugar Ray's and Leonard's and Ali's because more often than not they fought the best available fighter. We cant say the same about Floyd.

Bruh, he has fought plenty of fights people wanted to see and some other fans didn't. Don't discount this man because he didn't fight who you or others wanted the most. He has battled with some beast fighters and came out on top.

listen
you can't blame floyd cause bob arum don't wanna do business with him
that's what ppl like you just don't see to want to understand
arum hates him, and has spread this "ducking/scared" shyt to the media and ppl like you eat it up. it's either your a ducker or your not.

when floyd was on the come up, he fought or challenged every fighter that would help him become a bigger name. not one mention of him being a ducker. so then when him and arum break up, all of a sudden he a scared coward?:patrice:

the 80s was a different time in boxing and fights got made easier.
your blaming him for shyt that's out of his control and you have a very selective memory of who ducked who

Him not picking fights didn't just happen after he left Arum. After Castillo he was still with Arum for quite a while if im not mistaken. And that's when the passing up certain fights really started to me. I've had this thought for years way before any influence form "the media".

Floyd Stans just repeat whatever he says like parrots:heh:

I've been watching boxing since 1992....I remember when Floyd flat out DUCKED Antonio Margarito in 2006. He turned down a career high pay day of 8 million in order to wait it out and fight DLH.

Now, it was a great business decision AND financial decision for Floyd(especially bc Arum was not gonna work with DLH at no point), but that doesnt change the fact that Floyd DID in fact duck Margs:ufdup:

Mayweather turns down $8 million to fight Margarito - boxing - ESPN

Pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. rejected promoter Bob Arum's $8 million offer to fight welterweight titlist Antonio Margarito, and he instead exercised a provision in his contract to buy Arum out and become a promotional free agent, Arum told ESPN.com on Monday.

According to Arum, Mayweather turned down the career-best purse to meet Margarito on Aug. 12 on HBO Pay-Per-View, instead opting for free agency by buying Arum out of their deal for $750,000.

"I did hear from him," Arum said of Mayweather. "He decided not to fight this summer. I made him a tremendous offer. I think Margarito is the riskiest fight for him of anyone out there."

Mayweather adviser Leonard Ellerbe told ESPN.com that Mayweather passed on the fight not because he is ducking Margarito, but because he couldn't be ready to fight by Aug. 12. Mayweather injured his right hand during a dominating April 8 victory against Zab Judah.

"Floyd is not 100 percent healthy," Ellerbe said. "He has a bruised right hand. His hand is not broken. It's bruised, but it's a bad bruise. He wants to go into any fight 100 percent healthy. If Antonio Margarito happens to be the best available option when he is healthy, so be it.

"We are not turning down Margarito. I want to make that crystal clear. When and if he is the best available option for Floyd's next fight, that's the direction he will move in. We're not sitting waiting on De La Hoya," Ellerbe said. "He's in a tough, tough fight with Mayorga."

Let's not rewrite history anymore Floyd stans

I have never discredited the man as far as his talent and greatness in the ring. But I stand by my opinion of him taking the road less traveled for a nice payday more times than not especially after Castillo.
