Really? So when the character debuted he was Black?

If y'all like being pandered to so be it, but I've never felt that shyt.

There are tons of actual Black superheroes to choose from that they can elevate to the status that they rightfully deserve.

This shyt is no different than when out nowhere they made Iceman gay, despite having tons of gay superheroes to work with and elevate.
Most of these characters were created in like the 30’s black people had no representation. If these characters were created today some of them would be black. Superman is Superman black or white. He’s an alien from krypton doesn’t matter. They change shyt all the time for these movies.

Remember folks, part of the appeal of comics is being able to make a character like 20 times lol, black superman should be cool, but then again that square shyt clark kent beyond would look pretty off on a brother cause it fits in place with a cac profile.

There was nothing square about Cavill's take on Clark Kent, a black man can easily play a similar role

“Jordan has not wanted to engage in conversations about racebending Kal-El for the same reasons many of the fans are pushing back on the current Warner Bros. re-imagined version of Clark Kent, but that he would be interested in engaging on a Black Superman project centering on the Val-Zod storyline."

The distinction is an important one, particularly within the Black community, as Broadnax explained how it would be tone-deaf of Warner Bros. and DC to 'racebend a white character and erase Black characters that already exist in the DC universe under the Superman banner — Calvin Ellis and Val-Zod.
