This. Everyone has already known this about Kyrie for at least 5+ years. He's a good defender when he's engaged on that end. The issue is that he's spent most of his career not engaged on that end.

That especially shows up off-ball - even when he's playing hard on defense, he's almost never engaged unless his man has the rock in his hands.

hes very crafty offensively which can translate into defensive performance because he can be aware of different ways a guard will try to score
