My current car (2026 Camry, $700 a month) is my last new one for the next 10+ years. Im doing my own oil changes and keeping this bytch until it dies. Just did my first oil change at 1k miles. Got all the metal debris out and changed the filter. Gonna be doing oil changes every 5k miles. bytch ass dealership try to tell me I only have to do oil changes once every 10k miles :mjlol:
I would advise you to get all your oil changes and maintenance in general done at the dealership until your warranty expires. That way the manufacturer can't weasel their way out of repairing your car for a warranty issue and if you have a problem just outside the warranty that can be the difference between a goodwill repair and them telling you to kick rocks.

Nope. Federal laws prohibit dealerships from doing this. the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. As long as i keep records and receipts, im covered. I dont trust amateur mechanics to do shyt properly. Toyota app has a section for owners to manually input their own oils change logs to make it easier for their customers.

A lot of y'all obviously haven’t seen these prices and everyone doesn’t want to drive a 2010 model Corolla with 300,000 miles on it.

Base trim Kia, Hyundai, Nissans, Toyota, and Mitsubishi going for 40K to 50K now and those use to be the budget brands.

I probably wouldn’t trust a 6K cash car and a lot of the time you buying someone else’s headache outside of warranty and you going to have to put work into it much quicker.

Federal law doesn't require them to do goodwill repairs past your warranty period.

Rolling in my 2012 and 2016 whips until the wheels fall off :russ:

That’s the way to do it.

I got a 2002. I’m not getting a new car until I have 100k in cash saved up. And I dont don’t plan on spending more than $35k on it. I’ve done leasing and financing. Not doing that shyt again. Learned my lesson.

Its crazy with the average salary around 50-60k a year for people and u add the fact this president in office and tariffs and job cuts

U have to be real careful with these cars.

Trucks running 60 k and up and even used quality cars are at 40k with 20k miles on it

If u work from home there’s really no point to burn money on a car

Why would anybody pay $700+ for transportation monthly?
Depending on your city infrastructure, that’s not terrible. It cost way more than that to park a car monthly in a city, a commuter rail pass in some places runs at least that; you’re talking about maybe 25$/day on uber or Lyft. Mona was on JBP the other day saying her car to the pod was 300 each way the other day to do just the one episode
