Doesn't matter at this point 51% yes to 49% no it's over

New York Proposal 3, Forest Preserve Land Bank Amendment (2017) - Ballotpedia

It's largely about making the communities that are already there more sustainable and have access to cell phone service, power lines, broadband, and etc.

You're not going to see private development or housing etc on the land.

Most environmental groups supported it from what I know

Also when the 250 acres is depleted they'll have to start from scratch again if they need to do something similar

Thanks for explaining that because I would've voted No as well. Sounded like some deforestation shyt.

Projects that would be eligible for land include:[2]

(a) addressing bridge hazards;
(b) eliminating dangerous curves and grades on roads;
(c) relocating, maintaining, or reconstructing local highways and associated culverts provided that no relocated portion is over one mile long;
(d) water wells located within 530 feet of state or local highways; and
(e) stabilization devices for existing utility poles next to highways.
Governments would need to demonstrate that no viable alternatives exist to using state Forest Preserve land for the projects. The projects would be prohibited from using herbicides for clearing state land, required to minimize the removal of trees and vegetation, and required to restore pre-project environmental conditions as much as is practicable.

Happy to help. I have interests there so I stay on top if it. It'll be really good for the region.

People have died because of the lack of cell phone service over the years even on 87.
When trees down power lines in some areas they're inaccessible unless by foot.
They can't trim around power lines because the laws are so strict and when a trees falls power can be out in towns for days.
Access to broadband is still not widespread.
A lot of the roads/bridges are poorly cut due the same and aren't safe.

You're not going to see clear cutting or anything like that. It'll mostly be widening utilities corridors that already exist.

Plus they'll adding 250 acres to the park elsewhere
