I can honestly understand how some of these younger players go broke when the highest player in NFL history is just making 6 million after taxes a year.

My problem is the way the last negotiations went with NFL players. They didn't force the owners to open up all the books and declare all their profits, then on top of that they gave up billions as a percent of profits...for less practice time

They have too many players to withstand a lockout. 90+ on a roster every summer. 2500+ players won't be able to successfully unite. If I remember right, only players who have a 2-3 years in the league can join the players' association.
