Nah. I have a homie that is half Japanese who says the Japanese hate half breeds in school and society. Apparently they harass and discriminate against people whom aren't full Japanese. He wants to move to the West to get away from them.

Of course it does, but if you want to get technical, a person with full Japanese heritage and DNA is Japanese. This is the general case in Japan. I believe only people that fully represent their people can be judged as such in the eyes of the world. Let the Japanese women's beauty be judged as God created them.

I wouldn't want to be "Accepted" by them per se. What does that mean? That I've assimilated into their culture? I've spent most of my life indulging in mulitple cultures, Japan being one of them. To be "fully accepted" by Japan would almost seem like denying my Trinidadian and African heritage. I'd love to trade culture as more of a confluence, a joining together, learning and expansion. But I'll never be 100% fully Japanese, that is them, I am me. And THAT is what respect means. That is why we bow, not just Japanese, but in martial arts, and culture in general.

In today's global society, the idea of a "pure" nationality is ridiculous. I understand that Japan is still very proud and very homogeneous as a country, but it's very archaic thinking. Then again, when you only see others who look like you, anything different elucidates the absolute worst of the human psyche.

Just adding to the conversation. This is giving me even more of an appreciation for the world wide culture that has been on the rise in this internet age.
She's from Sasebo?!? I've been there....her dad must have been Navy. It's a Navy port town with decent sized expat presence. The city is famous for the "Sasebo Burger" which is just a hamburger with bacon & egg.
