Too hot and humid, surprised more people don't die at subway stations. The city also seems so dead then (probably because everyone who can dips out to their summer spots).

The fall on the other hand , the only problem with Fall is that you know Winter is right the around the corner.

It definitely has some of the best Italian and Chinese food in the world. But the Mexican food is, Japanese food is better on the west coast, and the barbecue is.

Also pretty much any other major city has almost every variety of ethnic food now a days . This isn't the 20th century anymore, a lot of other cities have close the ground culturally, and New York has fallen back a bit.

It's still a pretty dope city, but the gap between it and other cities is definitely not as wide as it used to be.

I know, but that's also true in LA, SF, DC, ATL, Chicago, Houston, even smaller cities like Philly. Pretty much any major US city has a deep multi ethnic restraunt games nowadays. I'll concede that ny still got the deepest, but the difference isn't that noteworthy. And even though ny by far has the most restaurants, it also has the most too. For every gem like Joe's on Carmine, there's 3 to 4 famous Famiglia type shytholes.

I agree with you that the food scene is solid but it isn't s o good that it sets New York apart from anywhere else anymore. What sets it apart is the 24 hour subway and the depth of its museums and cultural institutions. Outside of that though, it's pretty much the same as any other city, albeit bigger.

Just re assuring people that NY Hip Hop falling off has nothing to do with New York itself falling off.


I also forgot to add that being the money capital we have the fix on the sports franchises so well that the Knicks purposely suck because we already have the Yankees and The Giants bringing home the championship a few times every decade. We cant have 3 for 3 so we fixed it so that the Knicks is the one team from nyc that sucks that way we can be fare to other cities such as Miami and L.A.
