He was corny but his personality just jumps out there at you. His songs were like 4 minute semi raunchy sitcoms, he was perfect for TV. I don't even think he was a cornball he is just a little too hype.

Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince stayed in rotation on Red Alert & Mr. Magic/Marley Marl. So no one can say "The streets weren't feeling them".

I remember them being on all the early imported hip hop we got down in Texas during the mid to late 80s. So he certified with me. Which is another reason why he got to be the Will Smith we know today his hip hop card is punched and certified. And Jazzy Jeff is simply one of the GOATs on the wheels of Steel.

Will and Jeff did so much for the culture with this record

I appreciate it more now than then

I remember in HS in NYC, I enjoyed the video but in ‘87 on was listening to Rakim, Kane, Heavy D, KRS, Biz, Slick Rick, Dougie Fresh, Salt & Peppa, Dana Dane, LL, Run DMC, G Rap, MC Lyte, and PE.

They always came off as a novelty group but that’s what got him where he is today so kudos to them for having the foresight to not change
