Planned Parenthood president tells white women to 'do better' in fight for equality

(CNN)The president of Planned Parenthood called on white women to do more to "save this country from itself," crediting women of color with many of the recent political victories.

The momentum from 2017's Women's March fueled protests against the Muslim Ban and inspired activists to demand accountability from Congress, in Hollywood and in the workplace, Cecile Richards said Sunday at the Women's March#PowertothePolls rally in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"All across the country, the Women's March inspired doctors and teachers and mothers to become activists and organizers and, yes, candidates for office," Richards said. "And from Virginia to Alabama and to last week in Wisconsin, women have beaten the odds to elect our own to office. ... Women of color, transgender women, rural and urban women."

Richards credited women of color with many of these successes.


"These victories were led and made possible by women of color," Richards said.
She urged white women to join forces with women of color to change the nation.

"So, white women, listen up. We've got to do better. ... It is not up to women of color to save this country from itself. That's on all of us. That's on all of us," said Richards, who also heads the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

"The good news is when we are in full on sisterhood, women are the most powerful, political force in America," she said.

As much as these white Women complain and scream, they’re still going to vote republican at the end of the day. And the liberal females who would be open to them really don’t care about their racial problems.

trust white women when they have the best of both worlds. they benefit from white privilege and are the biggest beneficiaries of affirmative action. and unless white women magically stop giving birth to white men i don't see them being interested in minority issues. it's their sons in the police force putting in all that work.

White women are the queens of virtue signaling. They spend much of their youth advocating for various causes...then they get married to a white guy and settle into the comforts of white mediocrity. At which point their main interest becomes ensuring their family income and their children's futures are secure...which means ensuring black kids aren't in their schools, questioning the advancement of black people at work or in college applications ("affirmative action"), and voting for conservatives who promise to cut their taxes.

Not all white women are like that but...a large portion are. A majority in fact, even if it's a soft majority (say, 52%). Once they join the status quo they stop caring so much about social causes and virtue signaling.

Whereas black and Hispanic have no choice but to support these causes because it's life/death.
