The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office on Tuesday (March 15) seized computers from the Grand Isle Police Department, WDSU reports. The town's police chief, Euris DuBois, told the television station that Sheriff Newell Normand has been suspicious that someone within the department is interfering with JPSO undercover narcotics investigations.

A Sheriff's Office news release Tuesday night confirmed a search warrant was executed but provided no additional details. Normand is scheduled to address the investigation Wednesday in an 11 a.m. news conference.
A woman who answered the phone at the Grand Isle Police Department said no one was available to discuss the investigation.
