Yup you include Russia in that as well. Russia has a lot to gain from a warming world.

Yep, you get it.

The artic unfreezing is going to explode world trade for those countries. If the US declines dramatically from climate change and/or civil unrest, i actually believe Canada will open their borders to a lot if USA's best and brightest.

Russia and China are most likely going to build a much stronger partnership. Most of China's financial and technical centers are coastal cities which are going to get ravaged by climate change. All of russia's most important cities are inland.

And believe it or not a lot of russia's eastern providences are ethnically Asian/Mongolian.

The Coli told me that Donald Trump was Africa's savior and he wasn't gonna allow those extremists to cause terror over there.

''Once again, Africa needs international help. Local states are not able to deal with this type of situation and the delay of international society in helping them can have a serious consequence: the creation of a great international caliphate on African soil.''

The fall of Libya has made security in the Sahel region much worse. Anyone with a brain saw this coming. When a central government collapses into a warlord state with various militias its easy for weapons to flood to neighboring states. This is why the sinai insurgency has gotten in Egypt. This is why places like Niger,Burkina Faso,Senegal, Nigeria, Mali were facing stronger jihadist insurgents since Qaddafy fell. The Sahel region is a ticking time bomb. The reason why is because of massive population growth, increasing food and water insecurity because climate change, lack of economic opportunity for the youth, and worsening govt corruption/incompetence. All of these are ingredients for islamic radicalization.
France's reason for intervention is to prevent a unification of the various jihadist groups in the sahel. One of the worst fears for Europe and America is all the jihadist insurgencies from Mauretania to Somalia unify under one caliphate making it large than ISIS's caliphate. So the western powers send enough troops and drones to weaken the jihadist movements but not outright defeating them. To really get the Sahel under control the US/EU would have to commit to hundreds of thousands of troops and trillions of dollars of economic development. And it would take decades. There is no appetite for that. So their plan is containment. However in the long run it will fail because the west will focus more on facing down China and Russia. The only person who would go in a endeavor would be China. They have the military size and economy to do such a thing but will likely not do it as they are more focused in their plan to kick the US out of East Asia. West African and North African countries will have to cooperate to really defeat these groups. Its the only way and we saw a glimpse of that when ECOWAS nations worked together to push Boko Haram advancement into Senegal a couple years ago. All of them will need military cooperation and joint military operations to stamp out these groups.

I believe Abubakar Sekau had already pledged his allegiance to ISIS after a previous action a few years ago.

I think we as Americans have an assumption about ISIS that the U.S. military had about both al-Qaeda, the Taliban; and the Muslim Brotherhood - we assume the ideologies of these organizations.

in reality, they’re complex, multi-layered, and have inter-ideological conflicts - but each has a goal and is willing to expand far beyond its normal “allies” whether ethnically, nationally, or even religiously.

This will prove to be dangerous if Boko Haram can continue to access capital - the more disaffected young men they can get into the fold, the more they’ll be able to control - and ISIS comes with capital.

On the other hand, this may just be an excuse for U.S. meddling in more African countries after pulling out of Afghanistan.

This. It was my understanding that BH and ISIS were already allies.

Climate change is gonna flip so much on its head.

This gonna sound retarded, but I believe Canada is going to be a major world player in the next 50 years.

Low-key Canada is already a big world player, they just benefit from being the so-called "good guy" next to the US in the sense that no ones really pays attention to them.

Yeah, Canada is in the G8 already i just see them getting to a potential standing similar to UK and US now. Canada is their own country when dealing with intercountry relations, but they're kinda our proxy when dealing with global affairs.

I really wish black people could shake off the dirty hold religions like Islam and Christianity have on us :snoop:
The issue isn't really Christianity or Islam.

They're religious that are incredibly malleable and will take whatever shape or form is necessary to advance a specific (or societal) goal. In this case, Islam is being used to enable an insurgency to seize power in a region where there is no overarching leadership. During the Ugandan Bush War the same religious strain that created the Church of God in Christ here in the U.S. created the Holy Spirit Movement that led to the development of the Lord's Resistance Army.

Conflicts will always have a religious or ideological element to them, unless constrained by popular stabilizing forces.

Facts. Also something that may not be well-known is that their mining companies are well present in Africa, and for all the -warranted- criticism the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie gets for being an extension of France's politics, the 2nd player in the organization is Quebec.

What people in the west don't understand is that their governments all have the same policy regarding Africa, end of story. It doesn't matter who is in charge, the international policy remains the same. Politicians are local commodities, what do they know of foreign affairs? Ministry of foreign affairs handles that and politicians take the blame if it works out and ridicule of it doesn't, but at the end of the day, all international policies are made to secure the interests of their corporations, not for the progress and stability of other nations.
