Is he a PF or SF? If he's a PF we are GOOD. But by his size he seems more of an SF which we have quite a logjam at already

DWade And Gabrielle Union Send Out Wedding Invites Prohibiting Cell Phones
According to TMZ reports:

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union are warning their wedding guests — NO CAMERAS, NO PHONES … which could be a huge problem, since their guests are ADDICTED to social media!

The famous couple has just sent out their wedding invitations (made of wood btw) … inviting close friends and family members to “Put on your dancing shoes and join us for a THROW DOWN.”

It’s all set to go down at a mystery location in Miami on August 30th.

Guests have been instructed to meet up at a famous hotel — where they will be transported to the wedding site.

But the most important part of the invitation is the note which directs the guests to leave their phones and cameras at home “for the comfort of our guests and to protect our privacy.”

Translation — No Twitter. No Instagram. No Facebook … which could be a huge problem for social media-obsessed guests like LeBron James and Chris Bosh (btw, who’s gonna take away Bron’s phone?)

One more thing … the no cameras/phones rule will certainly RAISE the price of the exclusive footage shot by the “official” wedding photographer … if D&G choose to sell to the tabloids.

Rather have Turner for the simple fact he's a 2 and can be a decent backup behind Wade....but somebody will sign him for more than the vet minimum
I'd say there's no chance Turner would sign for the vet minimum. He was the #2 pick just a few years ago and he has by no means been a total bust. He hasn't produced at a #2 pick level but he's been decent, some team will pay him.

what I saw from yall summer league team (most of this will be repeats from the summer league thread):

- Shabazz gonna struggle at first cause he gotta adjust his game....he struggles with taller and/or lanky players...and he's not as fast/quick as you'd think he would be, so he couldn't get his shot off, couldn't setup others, couldn't get around them, nothing...ex: Lorenzo brown from state was in his ass in one of the games I watched the heat play....also, it doesn't help that he doesn't really play like a pg....the other cat handled that at UConn, while Shabazz was more of a scorer....he's being forced to change his mentality about his game, which is gonna take time....

- there's some white boy on the squad named tyler Johnson, that muthafukka got hops...when I say hops, I mean HOPS lol....

- ennis is nice, yall gonna like him...his defense is ahead and more consistent that his offense right now, but he has potential to grow with both....

...even though he not on yall team, think if he doesn't sign with the pelicans, yall need to go after pat young...he'd be a big yall could use...hell, a lot of teams can use...his offense lacks, but he's a defender and rebounder, and he plays with a lot of effort...he's one of those dirty work guys that's gonna struggle to get in the league, but once he does, he's gonna stick for

Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers says he had never heard of anyone leaving Miami for Cleveland.

MIAMI—
No one was harder on himself throughout last postseason than Mario Chalmers.

Every interview, he talked about how he was disappointed in his play. His shooting. His defense. He was down on his entire game.

A month later, Chalmers is back to his confident self. He has lots of reason to smile, mostly because the Heat re-signed him after many felt he was no longer wanted.

So how he played in the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs is a thing of the past.

"I'm past the Finals," Chalmers said, speaking at his basketball camp at Miami-Dade Boys & Girls Club. "Over and done with."

Chalmers has moved on from his nightmarish performance in the Finals. He averaged just 4.4 points and shot 33 percent in the Heat's 4-1 series loss, ending the Big Three era. The low point came when Chalmers was benched in Game 5, with coach Erik Spoelstra going without a point guard in the starting lineup.

Chalmers is hoping the two-year contract provides opportunity for redemption. He took the bulk of the criticism, making most forget about his 25-point performance that helped the Heat defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2012 Finals.

"You just take a couple of days to think about it and then you get over it," Chalmers said.

The poor play made for a stressful month after the season. There was question if the Heat would bring him back. With no longer being wanted a possibility, he mulled offers from theHouston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Chicago Bulls.

In the end, Miami is where he wanted to remain.

"I had conversations with other teams," Chalmers said. "Everybody was waiting to see whatLeBron (James) was going to do … In my heart, I wanted to stay, but at the same time if I felt like if I had a better position somewhere else I was going to take it."

Chalmers said he was shocked to see James return to Cleveland after four seasons in Miami. The two have spoken since, with Chalmers wishing well his former teammate. He was among the closest players to James.

"We were surprised," Chalmers said. "I never thought anybody would want to leave Miami for Cleveland but you grow up and you move on. That's what happened and there's no love lost."

His relationship with James was mostly known for being on the receiving end of constant yelling during games. Now, he said he is looking forward to playing against him with his new teammates.

"I talked to him a couple times," Chalmers said. "I'm not mad at him at all … He had to do what was best for him and his family."

The focus for Chalmers now is maintaining the starting spot. He is expected to receive strong competition from backup Norris Cole, who made strides last year. It didn't help his confidence when the Heat acquired rookie Shabazz Napier in a draft-day trade.

"It won't affect me at all," Chalmers said. "We've always had three point guards on the roster … I'm going in preparing for the mindset that I'm starting the whole year."

After four straight appearances in the Finals, Chalmers sees no reason why the streak should end. The Heat acquired forwards Luol Deng, Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger to offset the loss of James. They also retained Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, providing a solid foundation.

"We still got D-Wade and C.B.," Chalmers said. "We still got people on the team that can help us get back to where we were … We've got a lot of good pieces that can help fill that spot LeBron left. We got a team that's going to work together."

They are too loyal to Haslem to go after a guy like Patrick Young.

I need it would be a mistake on Riley's part to let Young get away again. Because Haslem isnt going to play forever. We are going to need his replacement soon. Also Bird is always hurt it wouldnt hurt to have another banger, rebound-er, & dirty work guy.

Heat down to minimum contracts

The Miami Heat officially signed veteran power forward Udonis Haslem and rookie point guard Shabazz Napier on Friday, per ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst, and that brings the roster to 10. That number will increase to 12 once Chris Bosh signs his five-year, max contract and backup center Chris Andersen inks his two-year deal.

The Heat used the "room" exception to sign Haslem, so they can only fill out the final three roster positions by offering one-year or two-year minimum contracts. Dwyane Wade is the only shooting guard under contract, so that will be a target, along with two big men. There is a chance the Heat will re-sign free agents Ray Allen and Greg Oden, although Allen may bolt for the Cleveland Cavaliers if he doesn't retire.

Entering training camp, Miami's starting lineup should be Mario Chalmers, Wade, Luol Deng, Josh McRoberts and Bosh.

Yo Turner for the vet min is who i want. :patrice:

As most of you know i'm a fan of Turner but the fact that so many teams are staying away from a young SG selected 2nd in the draft less than 4 years ago makes me wonder.

Seriously brehs i know we like to act like we know better than these GMs but I know most of these GMs aren't as dumb as we think they are. There must be something to it.
Unless he goes to the Spurs and watch him start dropping 30ppg :stopitslime:

Heat's Chalmers hosts basketball camp for kids

MIAMI -
Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers is staying in South Florida, and he's teaching children in the community about the sport that's made him famous.

Chalmers kicked off the first of a two-day interactive basketball camp for children ages 5-15 at the Boys & Girls Club of Miami-Dade Saturday.

"I'm just trying to teach them some of the skills I've learned," said Chalmers. The 28-year-old also had some advice for the campers.

"Never let anybody tell you can't make it... try to stay positive in what you do and be focused on it."

RAW INTERVIEW: CHALMERS ON CAMP & LIFE AFTER LEBRON

For now, it appears Chalmers is keeping his focus on the Miami Heat. He was officially re-signed to the team earlier this week. But his return to the court will be without his former teammate, LeBron James.

Chalmers said he's talked to James a 'couple of times' since his decision to return to Cleveland and doesn't blame him for going home.

"You gotta do what's best for your family. I'm not mad at him at all," Chalmers said. "You gotta do what's right for them and what you feel is right in your heart."

Chalmers added that he thinks it will be fun to play against James again.

Each of the campers at the Mario Chalmers Basketball Camp will receive a T-shirt, Chalmers' autograph and an exclusive camp team photo. The Boys & Girls Club, located at 2805 SW 32nd Ave., was recently awarded a $5,000 donation from the Mario V. Chalmers Foundation.

The money will help to upgrade the facility's basketball gym, including a new paint job and the replacement of six hoops.

"I helped design it, I helped rebuild it, it's a great feeling," said Chalmers.

Birdman re-upped

Birdman is officially back
The Heat re-signed Chris Andersen on Saturday. Heat president Pat Riley on Birdman:

"Chris Andersen has had two great seasons with us and without him, we would not have been able to win the 2013 NBA Championship,” Riley said. “I’m happy he decided to come back and we’re looking forward to a great season from him in the power rotation.”
