his autobiography is one of the best books I've ever read, probably a very very close second to the autobiography of Malcolm X. I actually ended up joining and organizing with my local chapter of the All African People's Revolutionary Party.
*sidenote* I can't find anywhere in the thread anything about a Henry Louis Gates-backed documentary on Carmichael, so why are people bringing him up?
