all well and good but the military is taking advantage of immigrants...this is a bad practice should be citizens only.

That's neither her more there, Immigrants in the military is completely normal

Immigrants have been in the us military since the founding of the country

Plus you have to understand how militaries are structured to see why it isn't a big deal

In the military there are enlisted people and there are officers

Enlisted do all the work, officers are the managers

so technically immigrants can ENLIST in the military but they can't be officers (officers are commissioned)

In any army it's not a big deal to have foreigners in the enlisted ranks, because the army is run by officers

Plus most of the time non citizens are people that grew up here and are joining after high school, it's not like you have fresh off the boat people joining

They can't, you have to be a legal immigrant to join

But any legal immigrant that commits a serious crime is deportable, there isn't an exception for legal immigrants that served

These guys fuked up cuz they did not take advantage of expedited citizenship, they are ultimately responsible for themselves but the recruiter and their higher ups dropped the ball also, they should have made sure the recruit understood how to get expedited citizenship

How weird that non citizens can join the military.

In Europe this is pretty common. france and spain are world famous for having army units made up of only foreign nationals
