Caps are out here exorcising demons and kicking all kinds of butt and not even bothering to take names. I'd wondered if being under the radar for a change might help them to settle and focus. So far, so good....
Skimming through Tampa/St. Pete papers this morning, their writers/columnists are already getting their @Big Boss on.
I've got to think Bettman and the other NHL PTBare hoping that wouldn't mind if the Caps break through to the Final. Vegas would be a nice story too, but an American big-market team with one of the faces (if not the face) of the league finally playing for the Cup could do semi-decent numbers.

Washington v.s. Vegas would be perfect though. You have a Vegas team going up against GOATvechkin trying to win his first Stanley Cup. There's star power and Vegas involved.

They beat Pittsburgh....everything else is gravy.
I always said Stanley cup is the hardest championship to win in sports but if Vegas comes in and wins it the first year in the league I'm sorry but it ain't the hardest to win. Vegas winning it all would cheapen the cup. Just my 2 cents

Brand new expansion team would never win the championship in nba or nfl. Vegas winning would expose the league. Stanley cup can't be that hard to win if a brand new team comes outta nowhere and wins it year 1

Vegas isnt a real expansion team,they were gifted a decent team with a top 10 goaltender who has chamnpionships under his belt...
League gave them a good head start knowing it would be a tough sell...You have to give them credit for being good and not a real expansion team if they take down the Jets they will have beaten the 2 best teams in the league in a 7 game series...
