Danny Ainge was the first GM to reach out to Isaiah Thomas in free agency. He was interested in bringing him in as Rondo insurance even after drafting Smart. I wouldn't put it past Danny to bring Isaiah here to start and have Smart be the 6th man behind Thomas & Bradley until Smart is ready to take over

And I think Isaiah only got 3 years from PHX
