5 pages and no one has mentioned Tulsi Gabbard???

Tulsi Gabbard (@TulsiGabbard) on Twitter

She has got the best chance at appealing to on the border republicans as well as Dems that weren't enthused about Hilldog. She's a vet, doesn't support gun control like most other Dems and is pro choice to a degree...

But really who knows, got a feeling there will be another term for Trump before another candidate really has a chance. With Trump riding the success of the economy(if it continues), he will be near impossible to challenge

Tulsi is solid overall, but she really lacks name recognition right now. With Cali moving up their primary to March, she would be at a great disadvantage. In addition, many supporters of Hillary and the establishment wing of the DNC really don't like her ever since she left of her DNC Vice-Chair spot to openly support Bernie.

Best role for her would Be the VP choice for Bernie. She complements several of Bernie's perceived weaknesses and reinforces some of his stengths: she's young, a person of color, a woman, solid on foreign policy, Iraq War vet, currently a Major in the National Guard, has openly supported Bernie in the past, is considered anti-establishment, and her political positions (both foreign and domestic) are practically in line with him.

If Bernie gets the nomination, I am certain Tulsi will be considered for the VP spot.

Hadn't heard anything about her up until a few months ago someone was talking about her. So is she just a sleeper agent lurking at the DNC :jbhmm:

Lol no, she's doesn't roll with the DNC like that anymore, she resigned her DNC Vice-Chair spot to support Bernie and caught a lot of flack for that. Some big donors even cut their donations to her reelection in 2016 because she supported Bernie instead of Hillary. She's firmly with the Bernie-wing of the party right now.

Nobody wants Tulsi. Tell that neo-con to hit the bricks :camby:

I did a lot of research on Tulsi and her overall positions lean heavily to the left, much further left than damn near all the potential Dem candidates save Bernie. What makes her neo-con?

Yes, she was very right wing for a dem in her 20s. She's only 36. Many people change from their 20s to their 30s.

If her previous positions are the issue, what does that make Gillibrand, who is much older than Tulsi, has been in congress for much longer and a lot of people (not saying you) are giving her a pass? Hell some of Gillibrand's current positions are not a good look at all.

I'm neutral on that issue. And it's no surprise that she would want closer ties with India, being that she's Hindu. Same way Bernie being Jewish is influencing his stance on Israel, despite his misgivings with Netanyahu.

Furthermore, Obama had a very strong relationship with Modi and no one held that against him. But suddenly Tulsi gets flack for being in good terms with him. People even ignore that she met with Modi's opposition, the Congress party.

In addition, anyone who wants better relations with India has to go through Modi and the BJP at some point anyway, being that they were elected and are still quite popular in India. Popular to the point that Modi is considering moving up the election date from 2019 to 2018.
