cory didnt have a lot of exciting fights in his prime...the closest you got was mayorga (to see if he could keep someone like him off for 12 rounds) and the judah fights..That loss when you know you won and they took away your legacy, which I think he would have surpassed his father and uncle , that makes you lose your love for the game.
That said I think he started struggling with his devotion and weight after that and it was just over for him being elite. It makes me mad thinking about it and how he isn't even mentioned except for getting knocked out by Zab in that rematch after that killer ring entrance with Nelly.
