I really hope the Warriors lose just so all the advanced stats geeks can go away forever. :russ:

I can't be the only annoyed by that shyt being brought up all the time as if it actually gives context to what's happening in the game.
Where is this advanced-stats/Warriors connection coming from?

Again, John Hollinger, the guy that invented PER and one of the fathers of modern basketball analytics, is the VP of Basketball Operations for Memphis. Not Golden State.

If anything, the Warriors are the casual fan's team, not the stat geek's.

I been saying this the past 2 years but they don't hear us tho. Curry is an underrsized SG that can pass.

Mike Conley will go down as one of the most underrated PGs of all time, imo.

I disagree about Conley cause I think they will win a ring either this season or next

Those the 3 dudes who will suffer the most by being out of position during a double team
Their defense is smoke and mirrors. Told y'all a month ago that they will lose cause of interior defense
They score so much early in games that other teams become jump shooting teams too. Hence their defensive stats and them not having tough games late
in games and lacking that close game finish. Beat them in the 1st and 3rd qtrs
. Classic front running team
I can play that game too - the Grizzlies will lose because of lack of guard/wing scoring. Now the stand is here what do you need more throughout a deep playoff run?

You're underestimating their interior defense, very few teams are better at protecting the paint/rim than the Warriors. Bogut and Draymond are elite in that regards and they rotate better than just about every team. Although there's defensive adjustments they could make - in a possession-war - those open jumpers they've missed over the last two loses have been the telling difference.

I'm gonna tell you dudes a secret.

The best PG on the floor is not Steph Curry, and the Grizz clearly have an elite front court. Gasol is a gamebreaking center, and ZBo albeit older, is still a savvy vet. The Warriors are not really built for a street fight and the Grizz have been watching Roadhouse on repeat for the past few years.
Who is it then - cause it certainly isn't Conley.

If the Warriors win next game, all this reactionary talk will be dormant.

You guys are arguing with some stupid fukking hypotheticals btw.

I know where Hollinger is at, but that doesn't take away from the fact I've been hearing some ridiculous claims about how RIDICULOUSLY great the warriors based solely on advanced stats.

Bogut and Draymond aren't elite at anything. Overhyped and Overused role players. They're not getting shyt done against elite playoff savvy vet talent
Pau, Noah, and Gibson would embarrass them. Right along with Nene and Gortat and Horford and a healthy Millsap

The won 67 games it doesn't take advance stats to tell you how great they're. Advance stats support arguments

Oh, yeah. Thats more just people tripping over themselves to anoint the Warriors than anything specifically about advanced stats.

You're missing my point. I'm not saying Steph ins't the better player, I'm saying in terms of spacing, running the floor and controlling the tempo. Conley is more complete in that sense. Fact of the matter is Conley does what he does while being 3rd in touches says something about him. Dude had as many touches as Courtney Lee.

I acknowledge it, I just dont care. Particularly when plenty of other coli favorites do the same shyt and no one ELSE acknowledges it.
You don't acknowledge this. You're on record for saying that Harden isn't a flopper. You cried last season, that the refs missed a foul (when they clearly didn't) when CP was trying to flop/attempt a shot beyond halfway and got the ball stripped against the Thunder and ended up costing the Clippers the game and ultimately the series.

You refuse to acknowledge ever taking L's while people are laughing at you and high-fiving at the L's you've taken just in the last few days. What does that say about YOU?
When I'm wrong I'll admit to it. Pierce is still flabby and sick, someone uppin a thread after he scored a game-winner and 12 points doesn't change that fact. Pierce is a shadow of his former self and is now a role player, he fell off a few seasons ago. One game or a few games playing slightly above his normal play won't change that - it's an anomaly not the standard.

So did the Dallas Mavericks. Win a title and 67 games and people will remember you for how great you are, if you don't then you're just another footnote of the teams that won 67 games and didn't win a title(there's not that many).
