They think that this primitive way of playing a position is best because it upholds the values of traditional basketball, even when a more efficient and dominant style is put right in front of them.

Haha ok let's take positions out of it then, Conley has been playing a balanced game this series, he wasn't especially efficient last night but he made key shots and his defense made Steph work for his points. Take away Stephs 3 point shot and he is nowhere near the force he was in the regular season, his style generally doesn't work in a seven game series, less so against the Grizzlies. Now don't get me wrong Steph may be able to shoot his way through the following games because he's definitely got the talent to do so, but he is going to have to be become more of a facilitator if his three point shots aren't going down because even if he score more than 30, if he misses like he did last night they go back to golden state down 3-1.
