I think you're thinking too much folks, the biggest truth is that a lot of black people are ashamed to exist, plain and simple. They think that white people create this world and they have no part in it. That's why they believe in the white man religions, celebrate history events that they have no part in it. We are still mentally subjugated by our oppressors, so of course we shouldn't celebrate the independance day, this doesn't make sense but what are you going to tell to people who refuse to exist. They don't know better and they never will. Every problems that black people are facing today are related to the facts that they are ashamed to exist. This is a human and spiritual fundamental problem.

our "July 4th" is June 18th the day slaves were free

It was June 19th or Juneteenth when the rest of the slaves found out they were free

And no we shouldn't celebrate any holiday. Just wear all black and protest :mjpls:

You do realize that Francis Scott Key, who wrote the Star Spangled Banner, was a slave master, a racist and spent his life fighting abolitionists & free blacks. I'm yelling black power whenever that song gets played :pacspit:

It's really none of my business as I'm not even American but surely celebrating 4th July is basically celebrating white supremacy, no?
frankly, even white people aren't "celebrating" anything. its just a day off from work to get drunk

no ones thinking about how we signed the declaration of independence, or putting any significance into the day. at least no one i know :skip:

Black ppl aren't technically celebrating America's freedom tho. They're just using it as a day off from work to grill, pop bottles, and fellowship with friends and family. Nothing wrong with that. I doubt any black ppl are waving a flag and reflecting on America's freedom today. More like a party that we just decided to have on a day that also falls on America's birthday

I think the bigger problem is that we're BLINDLY celebrating these holidays without doing research on the TRUE MEANING of these holidays. This isn't just black people but everybody else also. We've been told since birth to celebrate these days without really knowing the true events that unfolded. If black people did their research we wouldn't "celebrate" Thanksgiving either. I guarantee most people have no idea the true origins of Halloween but guess what, every year people dress up as monsters and go out for candy. They have no idea WHY they're doing it, its just that its been drilled into our heads since birth so we blindly do it.

Black people MUST gain a greater sense of our history. Its the key to "change". There's a specific reason why they hide and alter the truth about the past. They don't WANT black people waking up on a mass scale. White Supremacy depends on black peoples own ignorance
