Should I rustproof my car and if yes when???

Yeah a nikka be living in Canada(it snows). I got a used honda civic civic 09 like in august, and I wanted to know if I should rust proof it, and if so when and why?

I don't know how effective spray down rust-proofing is.
The best rustproofing is done at the factory. Some car manufacturers will dip/galvanize the body in a zinc bath where an electro-static charge helps bond the zinc to the body. Audi does that.
